Our non-profit project BioCongo, in cooperation with Vijana Africa, seeks to position the Democratic Republic of Congo as a model of sustainable development in Africa and in the world. With the world’s second largest rainforest, the world’s largest wetland, more endangered species than the rest of Africa combined, and a vibrant population of 83 million persons, we recognize the unique natural resources of DRC as vital for the health of its people as well as for the entire globe. We affirm the richness of the people of DRC as worthy of dignity and as repositories of knowledge and skill needed to face the serious challenges posed by climate change over the next century.
